The Scent of Excellence — Bourbon Vanilla from Madagascar, selected at the source

Our Supply Chain

From the plantation to your order, with no blind spots

Every Vanilha Noire pod can be traced back to its origin. A supply chain controlled at every stage, designed to secure your supply as much as your trust.

One less variable of uncertainty

Securing a vanilla supply is not just about guaranteeing a consistent aroma — it’s being able to answer, at any time, the question: where does this pod come from, and whose hands has it passed through?

Batch by batch

Our goal: identifiable batches from harvest to delivery, to meet your traceability requirements.

Six steps, one common thread

Manual pollination

Each vanilla orchid flower opens for only a single day. In the absence of its natural pollinator outside Mexico, it is pollinated by hand, one by one.

Growing and harvest (~9 months)

The pods ripen on the vine before being hand-picked, one by one, at peak maturity — a harvest that is too early or too late impoverishes the final aroma.

Scalding

A brief heat treatment halts ripening and triggers the development of aroma precursors.

Steaming and drying

Several weeks of alternating heat and rest, outdoors then in the shade, to concentrate the aroma without damaging the pod.

Sorting and grading

Calibration, visual and olfactory inspection: each batch is graded according to its aromatic profile and intended use.

Batch number and shipping

Each batch receives a unique identifier before shipping, kept until final delivery.

What we can document, batch by batch

A traceability claim is only worth something if it can be verified. Here is what accompanies every order, and what remains to be finalized.

A supply chain that values the people who sustain it

Behind every pod are Malagasy growers whose know-how is passed down from generation to generation. A traceable supply chain is also one that can properly value that know-how — that’s the subject of our Sustainability page.
